Topic: Finding and Using Data to Create Strong Proposals. As grant writers, we are always interested in updated and innovative data sources. This program will offer information about sources of data that exist within in our own city if you know where to look or how to access it. The program will also provide a closer look at the data available from the US Census. Discussion about how to effectively integrate data into proposals will follow. Grants Professional Competencies that this program will focus on: Competency 3. Knowledge of strategies for effective program and project design and development 3.6 Identify design and development decisions that are data-based (e.g., descriptive, qualitative, environmental, statistical). 3.7 Identify existing community resources that aid in developing programs and projects. Competency 4. Knowledge of how to craft, construct, and submit an effective grant application 4.4 Identify accurate and appropriate data sources to support proposal narratives.
