The nonprofit's Form 990 can be quite daunting and confusing. The Form 990 provides the public with financial information about a nonprofit organization, and is often the only source of such information. It is also used by government agencies to prevent organizations from abusing their tax-exempt status. At the August 1, 2017, meeting, we will delve into all the questions you had or ones you had and didn't know how to ask! The topic "Demystifying the 990" will shed light like never before. Our talented experts will be Ann E. Knerr-Smith, CPA and Anna Helfen, CPA. Both are Certified Public Accountants at Clark Schaeffer Hackett - Dayton, OH. Ann E. Knerr-Smith, CPA, has worked with many types and sizes of nonprofit organizations including social service agencies, private schools and arts organizations. She has performed many audits of nonprofit organizations under the requirements of the Single Audit Act Amendments of 1996 and OMB Circular A-133, Audits of States, Local Governments and NFP organization. Anna Helfen, CPA, has worked as Staff accountant and is currently Tax Senior at Clark Schaeffer Hackett.
