GPA Events & Volunteer Update

First of all, thank you to all of you who volunteer with GPA. Our association continues to move forward because of you!

2018 is off to a great start on the volunteer front. With the adoption of a new strategic plan by the GPA Board of Directors in November 2017, most committees and task forces will soon hear about some new initiatives and tasks. The Board of Directors met just this past weekend to finalize which committees/task forces will handle which tasks so if your committee has yet to meet this year, look for information from your chair or staff liaison soon.

I am in the middle of planning for National Volunteer week (April 15-21 ). The GPA staff is making sure you truly know how much we appreciate all of you for what you do for us.

GPA Staff is also already busy working on the 2018 GPA Annual Conference. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the conference and we are excited to be headed back to Chicago, which is where the first was held! The Call for Session Presenters closes in just a few short days (February 15) so if you are interested in presenting, be sure to get your proposal submitted. Registration for the conference as well as the hotel will open May 1. Be sure to keep an eye on your email for more announcements.

This year we are starting a new training opportunity for our Chapter Leaders. The inaugural Chapter Leaders Training is taking place April 19 here in Kansas City. Information has been shared to all chapters regarding this event but if you have any questions, please reach out to me or Shelley Wales, Chapter Relations Manager.

Should you have any questions regarding any of this or wish to volunteer with GPA, please don't hesitate to contact me at barb@grantprofessionals.org or 913-788-3000.

Thank you again for all you do for GPA!
