Development

Professional Development is one of the most important tools a Grant Professional needs to be successful in their career.

We are pleased to provide many opportunities for high quality training.  We host an annual national conference that has become known as the "Premier" training event for Grant Professionals. The conference is a three-day event every fall.  Learn details regarding the conference

For individuals who are unable to attend the annual conference, we provide webinars throughout the year. You may participate in a live webinar or choose to listen to the training at a more convenient time.

A peer-reviewed Journal is a document that is deeply valued and utilized by many professionals.  We have published a peer-reviewed Journal for the past seven years.  Non-members may see a short summary of each Journal article published.  GPA members have electronic access to every Journal we have published. Members may access all published Journal articles from the link to the Journal web page. Non-members may access olderJournals' articles, commencing one year from initial publication.

GPA's new Strategy Papers, offer practical solutions to current and emerging issues facing grant professionals. The GPA Strategy Papers Committee accepts concept proposals on a quarterly basis and uses a double-blind peer review process. Members and non-members may submit concept proposals and have electronic access to approved papers.

Electronic newsletters are a useful professional development tool.  Our e-newsletter features a weekly article that is peer-written and published by GPA. The articles range from grant writing to grant management to funder relationships and everything in between. To view all articles, visit the GPA Resource Center and sort by Articles.
